Visas Indonesia

Passengers traveling on business may obtain a “business visa” from their their embassy or consulate before traveling. Passengers coming on social visit (i.e: for tourism and leisure) have 3 entry options depending on the passport:
1. Visa-free entry No need for visa –  this apply to about 11 countries, mostly ASEAN area. You show your passport, its stamped, and that’s it. Nationals of  Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Hong Kong, Macao, Chile, Peru, Vietnam get visa-free entry facility for 30 days. They cannot extend their stay and they cannot convert their visa-free status to any other visa status.
2. Visa On Arrival – Pay USD25 on arrival, show the payment sticker, get the passport stamped, and that’s it. Most non ASEAN visitors fall in this category. A visa-on-arrival is issued to nationals of Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, China, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Laos, Latvia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Surinam, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and USA. A visa-on-arrival is granted for 30 days: it is not easily extendable and cannot be converted into any other type of visa.
NOTES: The previous $10 VOA (Visa-On-Arrival) for 7 days is finished. This USD25 is paid direct to immigration office. If paid in cash the exact amount in USD dollars is strongly recommended; other currencies are accepted; change will be given in rupiah.
Passport – For VOA you must have 6 months validity left for your passport, and a clean page for the Visa On Arrival sticker. You might not be admitted if you don’t have this either of these. You should also have a printed copy of a confirmed outbound air ticket. You do not need letter from company or photo.
3. Visa before arrival – Some nationals must obtain a visa at an Indonesian Embassy  before their arrival. Nationals of countries not listed above, and visitors wishing to stay for more than 30 days and working of transacting business are required to apply for visas through the nearest Indonesian Embassy or consulate. Single-entry visas are valid for 60 days. Visa applications will usually take at least two weeks to be processed. All nationals of the following countries need a Visa before Arrival obtained before traveling: Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Cuba, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Israel, North Korea, Pakistan, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Tonga.

Customs  Regulations

You may bring a maximum of 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco and a reasonable amount of perfume per adult. One litre of alcoholic beverage may be brought in per person 18 years of age or over. Personal goods up to a value of USD 250.- per passenger or USD 1,000.- per family may be brought into the country.
Any person bringing cash into or taking cash out of the country in the amount of Rp.100,000,000.00 (one hundred million rupiah) or more, or other currency in equivalent amount, must declare same to Customs.
Indonesian law forbids visitors from bringing weapons, illegal drugs or pornography into the country. Penalties can be severe and include death for weapons or drugs. Alcohol in excess of 1 litre per person 18 years or over is also forbidden to be imported.
Electronic goods and photographic equipment must be declared to Customs upon entry and must be re-exported.
If you bringing in goods or samples for trade show or sales trip you are strongly advised to obtain the appropriate documentation before you land otherwise you will experience inconvenience, substantial cost and delay at customs, on both your arrival and departure.  
Visitors must surrender a signed customs declaration in order to clear customs inspection upon arrival.
